The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are one of the many examples of geographic as well as socio-cultural diversity in India; indeed, they stand out, quite literally, away from the Indian mainland in the conflux of the Bay of Bengal in the east and the Indian Ocean in the south. They were, at one point in history, a hill range extending from Myanmar to Indonesia – these picturesque undulating islands and islets are covered with dense rain-fed, damp, and evergreen forests and endless varieties of exotic flora and fauna. This 5 Nights 6 Days Andaman Tour covers all the main destinations such as Port Blair, Havelock & Neil Islands.
This Union Territory of India comprises 572 islands in total, out of which only 38 are inhabited, divided into 2 main groups: the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 150 km wide Ten Degree Channel. Archaeologists have uncovered scientific evidence to suggest that not only have these islands been inhabited since the Palaeolithic Age but in fact, to this day there survives a tribe known as the Sentinelese Tribe which lives in isolation from the rest of the world through self-sustaining, non-technological practices.
Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair
Should be in the morning
The first day of your Andaman Tour will commence upon your arrival at Port Blair, where you will be received at the airport and taken on a guided local sightseeing tour. You will get to experience something culturally unique regardless of which part of the country (or whichever country) you are travelling here from. Some of the famous stops on this tour include the Cellular Jail or ‘Kaala Paani’ (the colonial era jail built by the British to incarcerate and torture Indian freedom fighters like B K Dutt, including an audio-visual recounting of the history of the jail called the Light and Sound Show); the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum (which is designed to create awareness on various aspects of oceanic environment and run by the Indian Navy – this museum aims to generate awareness about the environment in the ocean and the marine life); and Corybyn Cove beach, which is famous for Sea Kart adventure.
The next day of our Andaman Tour Package, we will take you to one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, if not the most sought after: Havelock Island. Located roughly 70 km away from the capital city Port Blair, you will be taken on a ferry cruise on the ocean waters for a roughly 2 hour journey to Havelock Island which is guaranteed to soothe your senses on the calm waters. Upon arrival at Havelock, with refreshment stops in between of course, you will be able to explore the most famous beaches on the very first day of your stay in Havelock, namely the Radhanagar Beach in the forenoon and the Kala Pathar Beach in the late afternoon. Turquoise waters, white sands, and stunning rainforests all contribute to making Radhanagar famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches of Asia. As for the Kala Pathar Beach, the name itself reveals the stunning beauty of the black rocks and boulders located on this non-commercialized beach, making it a wonderful place to spend some quality time unwinding and relaxing.
Continuing with our comprehensive Andaman Tour Package, we take you to the famous Elephant Beach the next day, devoting the entire day to just relaxing here at leisure. For the thrillophiles and adventure lovers, there are plenteous adventure activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, banana boat rides, glass bottom boat, sea walk and speed boat rides to choose from. After the intensive travelling and sightseeing, not to mention the slightly strenuous nature of these adventure sports, you will be happy to know that you have this entire day at leisure, so just relax and laze around and bask in the sun and wait for the sunset to approach before finally taking an elephant ride on the beach against the dying sun to end the day on a high note!
The next day, we take you from Havelock to Neil Island, yet another famous tourist destination of this area, easily one of the best places to visit in Andaman and Nicobar Islands alongside Havelock. If the swaying palm trees or the breathtaking landscapes don’t get you, then just cast an eye downwards into the sparkling clear water at Bharatpur Beach and you will see coral reefs extend far beyond your vision (and possibly even your imagination!). Neil Island’s other big treasure is Laxmanpur Beach, where you can catch up on any adventure activity you missed like scuba diving, snorkeling or water skiing or just laze around and relax and bask in the sun. Be advised however that the best time to visit Andaman is during the winter, with the summers being a bit too hot during the day and the monsoon season sees both humidity and constant rainfall becoming massive impediments to a wholesome travel experience. Our unique Andaman package caters to your every need, however, so let us handle the details while you just focus on maximizing your enjoyment.
Finally, we return to Port Blair from Neil Island, again by ferry or cruise for roughly a 2-hour journey. After a break for refreshment and some rest as per your needs, we will take you shopping around Port Blair so you can load up on souvenirs for all your family and friends (and make them jealous!) like seashells with ‘Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ or ‘Port Blair’ embossed on them. Also, get a taste of local cuisine and try out the street food before the final night of your Andaman Tour.
All good things must come to an end, but we can assure you that you won’t feel like you missed out on anything as you take our leave and head back from Port Blair, but we can definitely assure you that you will come back for more again soon after leaving, such is the divine beauty of these pristine, virtually untouched islands and islets.
