Kedarnath Yatra is believed to be one of the most sacred Yatras in the Hindu religion. Being one among the Chaar Dhams of India, you will return from the yatra with a calm and tranquil mind. Apart from finding spiritual quietness, the scenic beauty of the journey will also blow your mind. The Kedarnath Yatra is a 16 kilometers long trek with tall snow covered peaks in the backdrop and flowing rivers and waterfalls on the sides. This Kedarnath Badrinath Tour package will take you on a sacred and tranquil journey that you will never forget. If you are a Shiva Bhakt, you must take this Kedarnath tour to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati not only at the Kedarnath temple but also at Vishwanath temple situated in the town of Guptkashi.
After assembling at Delhi, we shall drive to Haridwar which will take about 5 hours to cover. The distance between Delhi and Haridwar is about 220 kilometers. Haridwar will give you an early vibe of the religious aura of Kedarnath Yatra, with the evening Aarti and the Har ki Pauri Snaan. While Kedarnath has its own religious significance, Haridwar is like a mini Gangotri where you can wash your sins and lose yourself in the bhakti and Pooja of Goddess Ganga. After spending a night in Haridwar, where you can rest and re-energize yourself for the journey to follow, we will head towards Guptkashi, a town on the route to Kedarnath.
Leaving the holy land of Haridwar, we will then head towards Guptkashi. Guptkashi is a small town situated on the Westside of River Mandakini. While in town, you can also visit the Vishwanath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. If you are a Shiv Bhakt, this is the perfect tour package for you. With Vishwanath temple on the way, and the Kedarnath yatra in the end, you’ll get several opportunities to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. Guptkashi is a few kilometers away from Guarikund, which is the base camp for the Kedarnath yatra. While the journey from Haridwar to Guptkashi is a long one (about 7 hours), the scenic views of the journey is worth every minute.
Make sure to rest well on the second night at Guptkashi as the journey to Kedarnath can be a vigorous one. While we will cover the 22 kilometers long ride to Gaurikund by road, the rest 16 kilometers from Gaurikund to Kedarnath will be covered on foot. If you suffer from any respiratory, heart or hypertension problems, you are requested to book Palkis or Ponies from Gaurikund, which will take you to the top without any difficulty. If you’re an adrenaline junkie and a trek lover, you’ll love the scenic beauty of the trek. While the trek can be a bit overwhelming for beginners, due to the steep and rough paths, however you’ll appreciate every bit of it given how beautiful the whole scene is. Because the two way journey might be a bit overpowering for some of you, we have made arrangements for stay at the top. Kedarnath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, holds one of the 12 jyotirlingas of India, making it one of the most unique temples and Dhams of India. After seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva, you must take rest at night to be able to start the downward trek the next morning.
Have breakfast in the morning, seek blessings and Prasaad from Lord Shiva and head down towards Gaurikund. Again the Kedarnath yatra can be tough, so if you feel it can cause some medical problems to you, you should again opt for Palkis or Ponies from the top. If you found the upward journey comfortable and scenic, you should absolutely trek downwards, which will again be a rewind of the scenic beauty of the snow covered peaks, and gushing silverish rivers.
The journey from Guptkashi to Rishikesh is about 185 kilometers long and should take you about 6-7 hours to cover. Rishikesh will be the last stop on this Kedarnath tour. On reaching Rishikesh, you can either rest at the hotel or you could try the sport of river-rafting. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, river rafting will greatly interest you as it is a dangerous and risky sport. After spending a night at Rishikesh, this Kedarnath tour package will end with leaving for Delhi the next morning.
Being a 240 kilometers long journey from Rishikesh to Delhi, it should take you about 6 to 7 hours to cover this distance. Reaching the Union Territory of Delhi will mark the end of this sacred Kedarnath tour package.
