Day 1 – Leh Airport Pickup | Arrival in Leh

Your Leh Ladakh holiday package begins with Happy Go Trips as you arrive at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, IXL). Upon arrival, our assigned driver will be waiting to receive you and drop you off at your hotel.

After check-in, take some time to relax, as acclimatisation to Ladakh’s high altitude is essential. Proper rest on the first day is crucial to ensure you enjoy the journey ahead to the fullest.

As the day unfolds into the evening, you may step out for a light walk to the Leh market. Here, you can explore local crafts, souvenirs, dry fruits, and even pick up warm clothing for the coming days of your trip.

Day 2 – Leh City Tour

Are you excited about all the amazing places to see in Ladakh?

After a hearty breakfast, your day begins with a city tour of Leh. As you soak in the vibe of this beautiful destination, head towards the mesmerising Sham Valley, where you’ll witness the vastness of Ladakh for the very first time.

 

Next, visit the famous Zanskar–Indus Confluence (Sangam), where the dramatic landscape leaves you in awe as two rivers meet amidst rugged terrain. Now, get ready to experience something magical, the iconic Magnetic Hill, where your vehicle seems to move uphill on its own, even without the driver.

Following this, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and the War Museum -the renowned Hall of Fame. This place is sure to leave you moved, as it stands as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Army, showcasing history, honour, and pride.

 

As the day moves towards lunchtime, stop by a local restaurant to enjoy a hearty meal. After some rest, continue your journey with a visit to Leh Palace – a 17th-century Tibetan-style royal structure offering panoramic views of Leh and the surrounding Himalayan grandeur.

 

End your day with an enchanting sunset at Shanti Stupa, where peace and beauty come together in the most surreal way. Afterwards, you can explore nearby markets and cafes, or enjoy an early dinner before calling it a day.

Day 3 – Leh to Nubra Valley

Today, we’ll start a bit early as we begin our journey towards Nubra Valley, which takes approximately 5 to 6 hours by road. Along the way, we will halt at Khardung La Pass – one of the highest motorable passes in Ladakh, to witness its magnificent views and capture some memorable photographs.

 

As the journey continues towards Nubra Valley, we’ll take a short pause to explore Diskit Monastery – the oldest and largest monastery in the region, and admire the 100-ft Maitreya Buddha glowing under the golden sunlight. Capture some Instagram-worthy moments before resuming the drive.

 

Upon reaching Nubra Valley, you can enjoy activities like an ATV ride and a double-humped camel ride at the Hunder Sand Dunes – an added thrill to the travel packages for Leh Ladakh.

 

In the evening, arrive at your hotel or camp, unwind, and relax after the long journey. Enjoy your dinner and settle in for a peaceful night.

Day 4 – Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso

After an early breakfast, we begin our journey from Nubra Valley towards Pangong Lake. Though the drive takes a few hours, the ever-changing landscapes along the way will keep you captivated. As you travel alongside the Shyok River, you’ll witness barren lands, rugged mountains, and roads occasionally wrapped in mist. This road trip itself adds a touch of adventure to this trip, alongside popular Ladakh tourist places.

 

By afternoon, you will arrive at Pangong Lake. Its beauty is something that can only be truly experienced in person. The lake’s ever-changing shades of blue, its vastness, and the deep sense of solitude create a memory that stays with you forever.

 

After spending some peaceful moments by the lake, head to your camp to relax and acclimatise to the weather. As night unfolds, a million stars begin to blanket the sky, leaving you in awe and quiet wonder.

Day 5 – Pangong Tso to Hanle

Today, we explore the rustic and authentic side of Ladakh, blended beautifully with its scientific significance, as we visit India’s first village with a dark-sky reserve – perfect for premier stargazing.

After breakfast, we drive through the scenic twin villages of Man and Merak as we make our way towards Hanle. En route, you can also visit the Rezang La War Memorial, a site that stands as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.

 

We expect to reach Hanle by noon. This remote village, located along the ancient trade route between Ladakh and Tibet, is home to a small population of around 300 people. A true offbeat escape, Hanle offers breathtaking views, with its stark landscape of arid lands and small mountains.

Here, you will also visit one of the world’s most renowned astronomical observatories, known for its high altitude and advanced technology, making it a paradise for stargazers. Whether you’re travelling with family, exploring solo, or on a group tour to Leh Ladakh, stargazing here is an unmissable experience.

Day 6 – Day Visit to Umling La

Today, we visit the world’s highest motorable pass -Umling La, which surpasses the altitude of Khardung La. It is a high-altitude adventure spot, perfect for thrill-seekers who wish to experience the raw and remote Himalayan landscape.

 

Umling La is situated at an altitude of 19,300 ft above sea level. It takes approximately 3 hours to reach there from Hanle village. On the way, we will also halt at Photi La, another high-altitude pass known for its snow-dusted barren landscapes.

 

After soaking in the surreal views, we will return to Hanle for an overnight stay. Enjoy your dinner at your stay in the village.

Day 7 – Hanle to Leh

After exploring the wonders of Hanle, it’s time to head back to Leh. As it will be a long journey, we will start early after breakfast.

We will drive through Mahe Bridge and Upshi village, immersing ourselves once again in the beauty of Ladakh’s otherworldly landscapes.

Next, we will visit one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh – Hemis Monastery. If you appreciate history, ancient art, and serenity, this visit will offer a beautiful and meaningful closure to your journey.

 

Afterwards, there’s a special treat for fans of 3 Idiots as you visit the famous Rancho School.

By evening, you will reach Leh. Enjoy your dinner and call it a night.

Day 8 – Leh Airport Drop

Your Leh Ladakh holiday comes to an end, and it’s time to bid goodbye to this magical land.

  • 50% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done between 16 to 30 days prior to the departure date.
  • 100% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done between 0 to 15 days prior to the departure date.
  • If a trek/tour is canceled at the last moment due to any government orders, harsh weather conditions, protests, landslides, or any other
  • unforeseen circumstances, we work out the best possible alternate plans on tours/treks. At times even certain activities are canceled, the organization provides the best alternative but no refund would be provided.

  • Yes, the best thing about Ladakh is that it is ideal for every type of traveler/tourist. The itinerary is planned in such a way that almost every kind of traveler enjoys the tour and can have a great experience, be it youngsters, a couple, or a family.

  • One doesn't require permits to enter Leh and one can move freely in Leh without permits. If you travel to Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, or any other place in Ladakh, inner line permits are required, which can be obtained from the DC office, Leh. One has to show his ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License).

  • The ideal time to visit Ladakh is from May to September if you are reaching Leh by flight. Out of these 5 months, June to August is considered the best time. Almost all the roads and places are accessible and the weather remains stable most of the time.

  • We provide mineral water bottles in the vehicle throughout the journey. All the places will have shops so one can easily buy mineral water bottles. We also recommend people carry a 1-liter water bottle with themselves so that if needed one can use it again and again by refilling it.

  • As you are reaching Leh directly by flight, which is a high altitude region, we recommend taking Diamox tablet at least 24 hours before reaching the destination. It helps to prevent the chances of getting AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Also, make sure you are not on any other medication or there shouldn’t be any hormonal problem because Diamox is not advisable to people having these problems.

  • Yes, you can take your child if he/she is above 6 years.

  • As you are traveling in a car, rain is not an issue. Ladakh is a dry region so rain doesn't cause any issue here. Though there are chances that you might experience snowfall at the passes, that doesn't hinder the journey usually.
